Water Use in Wyoming

The USGS has estimated and reported on the quantities of water used within the United States for a variety of purposes since 1950. More information about this effort can be found at: http://water.usgs.gov/watuse/

Water use estimates are made using uniform methods nationwide in an effort to provide reliable information concerning water use in the United States. Estimates are made using data collected from thousands of different sources and represent a major compilation effort every 5 years. Data are compiled so that they can be aggregated to the county, state, and national levels. Information and reports for previous compilations can be found at: http://water.usgs.gov/watuse/wunwup.html

Tables on this page summarize statewide water use in six major categories for the entire state of Wyoming in 2000. More detailed tables of these data for Wyoming and the rest of the U.S. can be found at: http://water.usgs.gov/watuse/data/2000/index.html
