SAC Timothy LandrumIn May 2007, Timothy J. Landrum was appointed as the Special Agent in Charge of the Los Angeles Field Division for the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA). The Los Angeles Field Division encompasses seven counties in Southern California (Los Angeles, Riverside, Orange, San Bernardino, Ventura, Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo), the states of Nevada and Hawaii, and the territories of Guam and Saipan (Commonwealth of Northern Mariana Islands). The Los Angeles Field Division has offices in Los Angeles, Riverside, Santa Ana, Ventura, Las Vegas, Reno, Honolulu, Maui, Hilo, Guam and Saipan. Mr. Landrum is responsible for the division’s daily enforcement operations, drug diversion investigations and administers DEA policy through two Associate Special Agents in Charge.

Mr. Landrum began his law enforcement career in August 1981 as a Deputy Sheriff for the Johnson County, Missouri Sheriff’s Department. As a Deputy Sheriff, Mr. Landrum was selected to serve as an Investigator for the Missouri Rural Crime Squad. This squad investigated serious crimes/offenses throughout the state of Missouri. While working full-time as a Deputy Sheriff, Mr. Landrum attended Central Missouri State University. He graduated with degrees in Criminal Justice Administration and photography. He also graduated with a Masters of Science degree in Criminal Justice Administration/Corrections.

In 1986, Mr. Landrum was hired in Kansas City, Missouri as a Special Agent with DEA. He spent over eight years working as a Special Agent in Las Vegas and Dallas. In 1998, Mr. Landrum was transferred to DEA’s Office of Professional Responsibility (Internal Affairs) section within the Northeast Field Office (New Jersey). In 1999, Mr. Landrum was promoted to Assistant Special Agent in Charge within the El Paso Field Division (El Paso, Texas), where he supervised the Southwest Border administrative and enforcement operations. In 2002, Mr. Landrum was transferred to the Las Vegas District Office (Las Vegas, Nevada) as the Assistant Special Agent in Charge where he supervised all DEA enforcement and administrative operations throughout the State of Nevada. In 2004, Mr. Landrum was appointed to the Senior Executive Service of the United States of America as the Special Agent in Charge of the Phoenix Field Division for the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA).

Throughout his assignments, Mr. Landrum has received various DEA performance awards, including the Administrator's Award. Mr. Landrum was selected as an instructor to teach various drug related courses within DEA’s domestic and international training programs. Mr. Landrum is a member of the Federal Law Enforcement Officers Association.

Mr. Landrum and his wife Shawn have been married 15 years and have two children.


Briane M. Grey
Associate Special Agent in-Charge

Los Angeles ASAC Briane M. GreyIn December 2004, Briane M. Grey was appointed as Associate Special Agent in Charge of the Los Angeles Field Division for the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA). Mr. Grey was assigned to his present position as the Executive Director of the Southern California Drug Task Force / Los Angeles High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (LA-HIDTA).

The Southern California Drug Task Force (SCDTF) is a multi-agency, integrated task force with a table of organization comprised of personnel from eighteen federal, state, and local agencies. The DEA is the lead agency of this nationally recognized counter drug enforcement effort. The primary mission of SCDTF is to conduct long term, complex investigations targeting major drug trafficking organizations that operate on a national and international level.

Mr. Grey is a 1984 graduate of Trenton State College in New Jersey with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. He then obtained a Masters of Arts degree in Public Administration in 2001 from Seton Hall University in South Orange, New Jersey.

Mr. Grey began his career with DEA in 1987 at the Newark Division. In 1993, he was assigned to the Bangkok Country Office where he served as an advisor/liaison officer to the Royal Thai Police (RTP) and provided expertise and assistance to foreign law enforcement agencies on narcotics and dangerous drug enforcement and control programs. During this time, he also participated in the investigation of international illicit drug trafficking and developed and reported on tactical and strategic intelligence related to U.S. Impact investigations leading to the dismantling and prosecution of Asian based narcotics trafficking organizations.

In 1998, Mr. Grey was promoted and reassigned as Supervisory Special Agent of the Airport Interdiction Task Force at the Newark International Airport. In May 2001, Mr. Grey was reassigned to the Office of International Operations, Far East Section, at DEA Headquarters in Washington, D.C. During his tenure, Mr. Grey was a Staff Coordinator responsible for coordinating U.S. Impact investigations between Thailand, Laos, Vietnam and Cambodia. In August 2001, Mr. Grey was promoted to Chief of Operations Management, Planning and Policy Section. In this position, Mr. Grey provided oversight for DEA’s Command Center, the Emergency Management / Disaster Recovery Program, and the Confidential Source Program.

In August, 2002, Mr. Grey was reassigned as Assistant Special Agent in Charge of the Honolulu District Office, Los Angeles Field Division. Mr. Grey was responsible for DEA operations in the Hawaiian Island Chain, American Samoa, Guam, Saipan and the Commonwealth of the Northern Marianas (CNMI) and served in 2004 as Board Chairman of the Hawaii HIDTA.
