Proposed Collection; Comment Request

AGENCY: Department of the Air Force, DoD.

ACTION: Notice.

SUMMARY: In compliance with section 3506(c)(2)(A) of the Paperwork 
Reduction Act of 1995, the Force Sustainment Division announces the 
proposed extension to a previously approved public information 
collection and seeks public comment on the provisions thereof. Comments 
are invited on: (a) Whether the proposed collection of information is 
necessary for the proper performance of the functions of the agency, 
including whether the information shall have practical utility; (b) the 
accuracy of the agency's estimate of the burden of the proposed 
information collection; (c) ways to enhance the quality, unity, and 
clarity of the information to be collected; (d) ways to minimize the 
burden of the information collection on respondents, including the use 
of automated collection techniques or other forms of information 
technology.

DATES: Consideration will be given to all comments received by April 6, 
2007.

    Needs and Uses: The information collection requirement is necessary 
to obtain demographic data about individuals and family members who 
utilize the services of the Family Support Center. It is also a 
mechanism for tracking the services provided in order to determine 
program usage and trends as well as program evaluation, service 
targeting, and future budgeting. It also provides demographic data on 
volunteers and tracks volunteer service.
    Affected Public: Individuals or households.
    Annual Burden Hours: 750.
    Number of Respondents: 10,000.
    Responses per Respondent: 3.
    Average Burden per Response: 5 Minutes.
    Frequency: Once.

SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION:

Summary of Information Collection

    Respondents could be all those eligible for services, i.e., all 
Department of Defense personnel and their families. The completed forms 
are used to gather demographic data on those who use Family Support 
Centers, track what programs or services they use and how often. The 
elements in these forms are the basis for quarterly data gathering 
which is forwarded through the Major Commands to the Air Staff.
