Important Information for Visitors, Guests, and New Hires

Visitors, Guests, and New Hires will need to stop at the Visitors' Center on Tidewater St. (right-hand side, look for the signs) and check in. They will ask your name and your destination ("NOAA Coastal Services Center"), and ask for the information listed below. We will have given the guards notice that we are expecting you.

• Valid driver's license or government-issued picture ID.
• Proof of insurance and vehicle registration for vehicle.
• For rental cars, the rental car agreement and current registration.

Directions from the Charleston International Airport

1. Take I-526 East to I-26 East.
2. Proceed approximately 3 miles on I-26 and take Cosgrove Avenue North (Exit # 216B).
3. At the 3rd traffic signal turn left onto Spruill Avenue.
4. At the first traffic signal, turn right onto McMillan Avenue.
5. Proceed past the guard gate.
6. Turn right at the first traffic signal onto Hobson Avenue.
7. Follow Hobson Avenue to the next signal (may be flashing), turn right onto Viaduct Road.
8. Take the first right turn, which will take you under Viaduct Road and put you on Bainbridge Avenue.
9. Follow Bainbridge Avenue to Visitor Control Center (VCC) on the right.
10. Stop at VCC to obtain temporary vehicle and visitor’s badge.
11. Continue down Bainbridge to security gates.
12. Display vehicle pass in windshield and show guard your visitor’s badge.
13. Turn left onto Holland Ave.  Go to end of Holland.
14. Turn right back on to Hobson Avenue and CSC will be the first building on your left. Address is: 2234 South Hobson Avenue.
15. Parking is in front and to the left of the facility.  Enter building through front double doors on South Hobson Avenue.  Press buzzer for access.

Directions from Downtown Charleston

1. Take I-26 West.
2. Exit at Spruill Avenue (Exit #218).
3. Turn left at the light at the end of the exit ramp.
4. Turn right at the first light (Viaduct Road).
5. Upon passing the guard hut in the median, turn right at the first exit ramp.
6. Turn left at the stop sign, which will be Bainbridge Avenue.
7. Follow Bainbridge Avenue to Visitor Control Center (VCC) on the right.

9. Continue down Bainbridge to security gates.

Directions from points North (Myrtle Beach, Georgetown)

1. Take US 17 South to I-26 West
2. Exit I-26 West at Spruill Avenue (Exit #218).
