Drug Free Business Houston (Former SBA Grantee)

State: Texas

Description: A division of the Council on Alcohol and Drugs, Drug Free Business Houston is a non-profit corporation formed by the Houston Chamber of Commerce to promote business sector involvement in anti-drug activities. Drug Free Business Houston's members receive guidance on carrying out a substance abuse program; access to a library that includes employee education and awareness literature, training materials, and sample drug abuse policies and procedures; films and audiovisuals on loan; a newsletter that reports events, trends, and seminars and workshops; and use of a speaker's bureau. Drug Free Business Houston's goal is to create a network for its large and small member companies to contribute insights and resources into the community's anti-drug activities. The organization also produces a kit to assist small businesses, which includes a mission statement, newsletters, membership information and handouts.
