Georgia National Guard Counterdrug Program

State: Georgia

Description:

GEORGIA NATIONAL GUARD COUNTERDRUG PROGRAM Through numerous community-based, leadership, educational and informational programs, the National Guard Counterdrug Program supports individuals and organizations dedicated to drug intervention and prevention, anti-legalization efforts, and the positive development of youth. The National Guard also supports the National Red Ribbon Celebration--a week-long celebration of drug-free lifestyles held annually in late October. Booths, displays, and demonstrations often are used along with the distribution of ribbons and literature to spread the drug awareness theme among communities.
