State of California's Department of Alcohol and Drug Programs

State: California

Description: The State of California's Department of Alcohol and Drug Programs (ADP) works to prevent and reduce alcohol and other drug problems through public funding for local services provided by counties and community-based programs. The Department also licenses and regulates treatment and recovery programs and driving-under-the-influence programs. ADP established a Drug-Free Workplace section within its Office of Prevention in April 1991. The Office's charter is to help businesses throughout California learn about the impact of inappropriate or illegal use of alcohol and other drugs. Alcohol, illegal drugs and misused pharmaceuticals are all given equal billing.
