Forest Maps

All Forest offices and Ranger Stations sell maps and books. If you prefer to order by mail, fill out the Map Order Form [PDF format] and mail it in with payment.

You can also order many of our maps online at Nature of the Northwest, a partnership between the Oregon Geology Dept. and the Pacific NW Region of the Forest Service.

New Map Prices

Due to an increase in production, printing, and distribution costs, the price of National Forest/Grassland visitor maps will increase from the current price of $6 to $9 for paper and $10 for plastic maps starting February 28th, 2007. Two-color Ranger District map prices will increase to $5; currently they sell for $4.

Map prices are set nationally and are based on an analysis of historical costs adjusted for projected costs. Other maps such as Wilderness Maps, Wild and Scenic River Maps and other special area maps are not standard products and their prices are not set nationally; their prices will not be increasing at this time.

Visitor map prices were last increased in May, 2000. At that time the price increased from $4 per map to the current prices of $6 for paper and $7 for plastic.

Folks planning to purchase a Forest Visitor Recreation map in the near future may want to stop by their local Forest Service Ranger District or Headquarters office before February 28th to take advantage of the lower map price.

The Wenatchee National Forest map will be revised and reprinted by late 2008; the Okanogan National Forest map is scheduled to be revised and reprinted in 2010; both maps will be printed on plasticized paper.
