Earthquake in Iran

Secretary Condoleezza Rice
Washington, DC
March 31, 2006

I wish to express my sincere condolences to all those who have lost loved ones in today’s series of earthquakes that struck Luristan in Iran. Our thoughts and prayers are also with those who are injured or are still missing. We wish to support efforts underway to help those suffering as a result of this tragedy. The United States is ready to provide humanitarian assistance to the Iranian people in this time of need.
