Benefits:
SmartWay Tractor and SmartWay Trailer

What's In It For Me?

The new 2007 EPA Certified SmartWay Tractor and EPA Certified SmartWay Trailer are the cleanest, most fuel efficient long haul tractor and trailer available in today's market. Eight major truck manufacturers* are now offering at least one long haul model that meets SmartWay specifications. The EPA Certified SmartWay Trailer can be special ordered direct, or through a dealer.

Better fuel economy and a cleaner ride will give all carriers a big return on their investment, but for EPA's SmartWay Partners, there are other benefits for upgrading their fleets with EPA Certified SmartWay Tractors and SmartWay Trailers. SmartWay Partners also will have access to two new exclusive promotional tools. Developed to support and recognize the commitment of our SmartWay Partners to save energy and protect the environment, EPA has developed two new SmartWay marks. These marks can be used by our SmartWay Partners to publicly showcase their energy-saving goals and environmental leadership.

The new 2007 SmartWay Tractor and 2007 SmartWay Trailer marks may be affixed and prominently displayed on the exterior of a certified tractor or trailer by SmartWay Partners who are active in the program and sign an agreement to ensure the value and meaning of the marks.

SmartWay Partners that use the 2007 SmartWay Tractor or 2007 SmartWay Trailer marks will clearly send a message to both their customers and the broader public that they are taking action to save energy, reduce emissions, and protect the environment.

* U.S. EPA Certified SmartWay Trucks can be specified and ordered through the following manufacturers: Cummins, Freightliner, International, Kenworth, Mack, Peterbilt, and Volvo.
