Forest Plan Revision
The National Forest Management Act (NFMA) of 1976 required every national
forest to develop a plan. The current Prescott National Forest Plan was implemented
in 1987. In the years since then, many social and resource conditions changed,
scientific information improved, and land management policies evolved. Though
the plan was amended many times, some changes could not be addressed quickly
or effectively. (MORE)

If you would like to know more about a specific project, please call
or write to the listed "contact person" indicated on the Schedule.
The Forest will not do "blanket" mailings for each project;
rather, project-specific input will be sought from persons who have indicated
an interest in that particular project.
Forest Travel Management
Motorized travel is an appropriate use of NFS lands - your ideas can help
us manage this use on our forests. Our ultimate goal in the planning process
is to designate a system of roads, trails, and areas open to motorized use – you
can help us create a manageable and sustainable motorized travel system.

Recreation Facility Analysis
Recreation Facility Analysis is an analysis process, used nationally, to
assist Forests in creating a sustainable program that aligns recreation sites
with visitors' desires, expectations, and use. (MORE)
Stewardship Contracts
A stewardship contract would use a negotiated, performance-based service
contract to bundle together related services and the sale of forest products
from a piece of National Forest System land. (MORE)
