Consumer prices rise sharply in 1990

A 6.1-percent rise in the Consumer Price Index for All Urban Consumers during 1990 largely reflected price rises in energy, apparel commodities, and most services. The increase was the largest since 1981. This article summarizes changes in consumer price indexes during 1990.
