ABSTRACT

November 1995, Vol. 118, No. 11

Summary of BLS projections to 2005

Ronald E. Kutscher
Associate Commissioner, Office of Employment Projections, Bureau of Labor Statistics

The labor force of blacks, Hispanics, and Asian and other groups will expand rapidly; the share of administrative support occupations is expected to decline, as are jobs in the good-producing sector; the services industry will account for 12 million of the increase in jobs by 2005. These articles compare the 1994-2005 projections with the 11-year 1983-94 historical period.
