How EPA Supports the President’s Management Agenda

In 2001, the President’s Management Agenda (PMA) (PDF Format )outlined a strategy to reform the management and performance of the Federal government to make it citizen-centered, results-oriented, and market-based. The White House Office of Management and Budget uses a stop-light system of red, yellow, or green to rate agencies' performance each quarter for each initiative in which they take part. Each quarter Executive Branch Management Scorecards are posted at the Results.gov website.

Also, the 2006 President’s Management Agenda Results Report (PDF Format )summarizes what the government has accomplished in support of each of the PMA initiatives.
EPA is working on several Executive Branch initiatives to strengthen the effectiveness, efficiency, and accountability of our programs. The Office of the Chief Financial Officer coordinates the Agency’s efforts under several of these initiatives and coordinates with the Offices of Environmental Information, Administration and Resources Management, and Research and Development on others. EPA contributes to the following PMA initiatives:
