Tribal Transportation Programs

In 2003 FHWA initiated a project to meet with tribal governments and document the state of the tribes' transportation programs. This has provided FHWA with an opportunity to observe tribes' transportation systems and meet with tribal staff and leaders.

Following is a listing of tribes that FHWA has met with as part of this initiative. Meetings included staff from FHWA Headquarters and Divisions, State DOTs, and BIA. FHWA will continue this cooperative effort with tribal governments and continue to share the information with tribes and states.
