On February 12, 2003, President Bush issued an Executive Memorandum in which he established the Interagency Working Group on Assistive Technology Mobility Devices. This new working group comprises the Secretary of Education Rod Paige (chair), Labor Secretary Elaine L. Chao, Health and Human Services Secretary Tommy G. Thompson, and Social Security Commissioner Jo Anne B. Barnhart. Other federal officials may also be designated, from time to time, by the Assistant to the President for Domestic Policy.
