(March 19, 2008) Vernon, LA – Employees of the Red Chamber Co. and Neptune Foods based in Vernon gathered to thank Congresswoman Lucille Roybal-Allard (CA-34) for her successful federal intervention and assistance with a Customs and Border Protection matter that enabled the company to save up to 500 local manufacturing jobs. A thank you card presented to the congresswoman read, “Thank you for saving the hundreds of 34th District jobs. Everyone in these pictures proudly works and many reside in the 34th District. It is good to know that we all can count on you to support us and to make certain that the government works for everyone and not just for those who talk the loudest. Our nation and California are well served by having dedicated elected officials like you representing our collective voices. With our warmest thanks, The Employees and Associates of Neptune Foods, Los Angeles, CA.” Family-owned and located in Vernon for more than 30 years, the Red Chamber’s primary business is frozen seafood products that are sold to various companies, including Long John Silver’s. Neptune Foods is an independent operating company that processes seafood for the Red Chamber Group of Companies.
