(March 15, 2008) Florence-Firestone Area of Los Angeles - Congresswoman Lucille Roybal-Allard (CA-34) and Congresswoman Linda Sánchez (CA-39) met with Florence-Firestone community leaders to discuss current and future initiatives to support local youth. Both Members of Congress represent portions of the area. In addition to Walnut Park, Congresswoman Roybal-Allard represents the northern portion of the Florence-Firestone area bordered by the avenues of Slauson, Central, Florence, and Wilmington. During the meeting, the neighborhood coalition members updated the congresswomen on a variety of local efforts underway to keep young people on the right path, including through programs that offer increased employment opportunities and after school activities.
