Veterans/Bellflower

(August 4, 2006) Downtown, Los Angeles – Congresswoman Lucille Roybal-Allard (CA-34) thanked Mr. John Jimenez for his valiant service to our country as she presented the Bellflower resident with multiple service medals that he earned during the Korean War while serving in the U.S. Army. During the meeting at her downtown congressional office, Mr. Jimenez told the congresswoman how much he appreciated her assistance in obtaining his medals, which consist of a Good Conduct Medal, a National Defense Service Medal, a Korean Service Medal & Double Bronze Star Attachment, a Combat Infantryman Badge 1st Award and a United Nations Service Medal. The congresswoman’s caseworkers assisted Mr. Jimenez in contacting the National Personnel Records Center in St. Louis, Missouri to obtain the medals. The congresswoman’s office offers constituent casework services to assist district residents in resolving problems with federal agencies such as the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and the Social Security Administration. More information about federal services can be obtained by visiting the congresswoman’s web site at www.house.gov/roybal-allard or by calling her district office at (213) 628-9230.
