PONCE, Puerto Rico -- The Wage and Hour Division of the U.S. Department of Labor has announced that its field office in Ponce has moved to a new location. The office previously was located in the Santa Maria Medical Building.

Employees in Ponce who wish to receive wage and hour information or to file a complaint and employers who wish to obtain compliance information about labor laws enforced by the Wage and Hour Division are encouraged to contact this field office.

The Wage and Hour Division enforces the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and other federal labor laws. The FLSA requires that covered employees be paid at least the federal minimum wage as well as time and one-half their regular rates of pay for hours worked beyond 40 per week. The law also requires that accurate records of employees’ wages, hours and other conditions of employment be maintained.
