Location
The House Creek Recreation Complex is across McPhee
Reservoir from the McPhee complex. From Dolores, drive north at
11th Street on the Dolores-Norwood Road (Forest Rd. 526) for about
6 miles, then southwest on the House Creek Road (Forest Rd. 528)
for 5.4 miles.
Facilities
The access road and parking areas are paved.
There is an open play area, composting toilets, sanitary
dumping station, group picnic areas, and four-lane boat ramp. This
gently sloping, grassy area is near the reservoir’s high-water
line.
No firewood or showers.
The family campground has 45 sites in three loops;
17 sites have electrical hookups and two are designed for wheelchairs
(Loop "A" site #5, Loop "B," site #40).
- Loop "A" has 26 sites, including four group sites
(day-use only, up to 30 people each)
- Loop "B" offers 16 sites (reservations are required
on this loop only; all other campsites are available on a first-come,
first-served basis), including three group sites.
- Loop "C" has 5 pull-thru sites, 3 walk-in lakefront
sites, and one group day-use-only area.
