Greetings from the National Council of Urban Indian Health,
Your Organization has been identified as a potential knowledge contributor to the HHS-funded project benefitting Indian communities in urban settings across the US. Through the Healthy Indian Country Initiative (HICI) the National Council of Urban Indian Health (NCUIH)--the primary organization devoted to developing quality accessible healthcare programs for all American Indian and Alaska Natives living in urban communities-- is in the process of creating a web-based Best Practices Toolkit that will be a public hub of information for the field of Urban Indian Health.
Therefore, NCUIH officially requests your participation in the gathering of all Urban Indian Health related documents (white papers, concept papers, and thesis), materials, (power point presentations, training materials), academic studies (case studies) and research that focus on and/or involve health issues relevant to urban Indian populations. Your participation is invaluable in carrying out this task. We ask that you be kind enough to re-direct this message to the appropriate person/people within your institution who you deem to have useful information pertinent to the aforementioned requested materials.
Building upon previous successful information collection (Knowledge Map- 2007), NCUIH shall classify all received documents, placing them in different categories such as Best Practices, Lessons Learned, Academic Research, Training & Visual Materials, Articles, etc. By mapping out the existing materials available on Urban Indian Health, NCUIH will be able to find out with accuracy:
a) Where gaps in knowledge are, and what has been done in other programs to alleviate such issues;
b) Make strategies based on the findings and conclusions; and
c) Expand the possibilities for providing better and more targeted technical assistance on these issues.
Please fill the attached form with the applicable information and submit to:
