Wrangell-St. Elias hosted renowned Alaskan Artists, Jon and Jona Van Zyle in 2006 as Artists-In-Residence. Jon and Jona live near Eagle River, AK where they raise and train Siberian Huskies. Jona has many years experience working with huskies. Her love of wildlife and sled dogs has greatly influenced all facets of her art and life. Her beautiful drawings reflect her passion for wild places like Wrangell-St. Elias National Park.

Mt. Bona  

Did You Know?
Mount Bona, a 16,421’ peak in the St. Elias range, was named in 1897 by Italy’s Duke of the Abruzzi for his racing yacht, the Bona. The Duke, grandson of the first king of Italy, was the first person to climb towering 18,008’ Mount St. Elias, from which vantage point he could view Mt. Bona.
