USDA FUNDS FOR NOXUBEE COUNTY
$305,600 for water system improvements
(WASHINGTON, D.C.) –Congressman
Chip Pickering announces a USDA
Rural Development Water and Waste
Disposal Grant for the City of
Macon. The grant of $305,600 will
be used to provide water system
improvements in Noxubee County
along Business Highway 45 North. Currently,
there are 22 existing residents
and 3 small businesses which are
not served by a public water service. This
grant will provide funding to install
approximately 12,000 linear feet
of new 8 inch water mains and an
emergency generator to provide
water service to this area.
Pickering said, “It is essential
to meet the growing needs of our
communities. This access to public
water will allow for a healthier
environment, expansion and increased
economic development in Noxubee
County. I am pleased to see USDA
award this grant to the City of
Macon.”

is dedicated to providing programs
to rural communities and individuals
to promote economic and community
growth including housing, community
facilities, utility systems, and
business and economic growth.
Congressman
