2009 Timber Sales

Bid openings for FY08 Timber Sales (Hook DFPZ, Salty DFPZ, Bugle DFPZ, and Finn DFPZ) have been postponed and extended until after the first half of 2009 on the advice of the Office of the General Council (OGC).

These sales are a part of the Champs EA & DN which are being litigated by Earth Island/John Muir Project and indirectly challenged by Sierra Forest Legacy as a Category 3 Project which may enjoin it into the Framework litigation.

OGC has advised the Forest Service not to award any contracts until the briefing schedule is complete and perhaps not until we have a decision. This could be into the spring/summer of 2009 or later.

When a decision is made, a new bid date will be established and Prospective Bidder letters sent out.
