Erie County Civil Service Opportunities

NOTICE: EFFECTIVE 2-15-06

Due to increased costs for administering Erie County Civil Service exams, it is necessary to increase exam fees as follows:

 New Fee
Decentralized exams
(Continuous recruitment exams or any exams numbered
3_-___ or 4_-___)
$15.00
Uniformed services exams
(Correction Officer/Deputy Sheriff - Officer,
Police Officer/Deputy Sheriff - Criminal
and all supervisory level police titles)
$30.00
All remaining exams$20.00

Please keep in mind that this is the first increase in fees since 1991.


Notice:

Effective December 15, 2002, Erie County no longer maintains a file of applicant transcripts. Exam applicants must be prepared to provide documentation of educational qualifications (transcript, diploma, etc.) to the hiring agency prior to appointment (at the job interview, for example). Documentation may also be submitted with the exam application, but will not be retained for future reference.

You may obtain application at the Erie County Personnel Office, Rath County Office Building, 95 Franklin St., Buffalo. Applications are also available at all libraries, town and village halls, county office buildings, NYS Employment Service and many non-profit agencies. A non refundable filing fee is required for each exam.
