Washington, D.C.  -  Congressman Mike Rogers made the following remarks today on the passing of Coretta Scott King, wife of the great civil rights leader, Dr. Martin Luther King.

“Mrs. King devoted her life to her husband, and her legacy to advancing Civil Rights for all Americans. Even after Dr. King’s tragic death, she kept her husband’s spirit alive by working for equality through nonviolent social change.

“While we are saddened today by her passing, let us remember Coretta Scott King’s life and pay our deepest respects for a woman who never stopped working to make her late husband’s dreams a reality.”
