Cedar Bluff to Receive $5,000
for City Planning
Rogers Announces $5,000 Federal Grant,
Totals $10,000 with Local Match

Washington, DC  -  Congressman Mike Rogers today congratulated the Town of Cedar Bluff for receiving $5,000 to help complete a plan for the city’s economic development. The $10,000 project, which includes $5,000 in local matching funds, will be completed through a partnership with Auburn University’s Small Town Design Initiative, an effort that helps similarly-sized towns develop new regional plans.

“When it comes to economic development, every single dollar is important,” Rogers said. “Ultimately, these funds should help facilitate Cedar Bluff’s growth and help attract even more investment to the area.”

The grant, administered by the Appalachian Regional Commission in Washington, DC, will be distributed directly to the Town of Cedar Bluff and will help pay for the creation and distribution of a Cedar Bluff Plan and Design Poster. The funds will also allow local officials to hold community input meetings and create new economic development strategies to plan the area’s growth.

Larger goals of the project include increasing civic engagement among local stakeholders, and enhancing the overall quality of life for Cedar Bluff’s residents.
