New Congressional Site Gives Students Opportunity to Publicize Work

Washington, DC  -  Alabama students in the Third Congressional District have a new way to showcase their work around the world. With one quick keystroke, Congressman Mike Rogers launched his new website today, and with it, began a new Congressional Website Art Contest for elementary, middle and high school students.

“The internet is a powerful tool for learning and a convenient way for constituents to contact me with their concerns,” Rogers said. “Hopefully, this site will also provide students with special artistic skills another way to showcase their talents.”

Third District students interested in submitting their work for Congressman Rogers’ website should visit his homepage at http://www.house.gov/mike-rogers. Visitors should scroll to the lower portion of the front page where submission instructions are located. Each student selected will have their artwork posted on the site’s front page for 30 days.

Rogers also encouraged constituents to visit his website for information relating to Congress and the Third District. For example, individuals may sign up for Rogers’ “E-newsletter” which delivers timely information to subscribers’ mailboxes, as well as e-mail their constituent concerns directly to him and his staff. Constituents visiting Washington, DC, are invited to visit the site to get up-to-date information on Capitol tours and sites of interest.
