BISNIS...Facilitating Commercial Success in Eurasia

BISNIS provides market information, practical advice, leads, and referrals to U.S. and Eurasian companies of all sizes to facilitate U.S. exports and other forms of business development in Eurasia*. BISNIS assists U.S. firms in evaluating, preparing for, and successfully pursuing new business activities in Eurasia. BISNIS supports business and market development in Eurasia by helping firms and the local business support infrastructure (including government and associations) to understand, form partnerships, and successfully collaborate with U.S. business counterparts.

BISNIS has facilitated more than $4 billion worth of U.S. exports and U.S.-Eurasian business collaboration. BISNIS generates a powerful return on taxpayer dollars; during its 2004 fiscal year BISNIS generated $280 in U.S. business successes in Eurasia for every $1 in funding received.

In 2004, BISNIS became a unit of the U.S. Commercial Service (www.export.gov), which provides customized solutions to help U.S. businesses succeed in markets worldwide.

BISNIS was established in 1992 under the Freedom Support Act, and receives its funding through the U.S. Congress.

BISNIS has received funding to continue operating to September 30, 2007.

* The 12 Eurasian countries covered by BISNIS are: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, and Uzbekistan.
