Permits

Katmai National Park and Preserve does not have any backcountry permit requirements or associated fees. It is highly recommended, however, that you register for your trip at Brooks Camp or at the King Salmon Visitor center for safety reasons and to borrow one of the bear resistant containers available for free use.
