BEACH Act grants are awarded to eligible coastal and Great Lakes states, territories, and tribes to develop and implement beach monitoring and notification programs.
Grant Allocation Forumula
EPA is announcing potential changes to the grant allocation formula it uses to award implementation grants under the Beaches Environmental Assessment and Coastal Health (BEACH) Act. EPA expects any changes to the formula would become effective in 2010.

2008 Beach Grants Announcements
EPA is making $9.75 million in grants available in 2008 to eligible states to protect public health at the Nation's beaches. These grants help coastal and Great Lakes states implement programs to monitor water quality at the beach and to notify the public when water quality problems exist.

Information Collection Request for the BEACH Act Grant Program Submitted to OMB
On June 27, 2005, EPA announced in the Federal Register (70 FR 36935) that we submitted the ICR for the BEACH Act grant program to OMB for review. EPA collects certain information from grant recipients as a condition of the grants, and this ICR is EPA's estimate of the cost of reporting the information to EPA.
