Description
The Health Information Resource Database lists over 1,700 public and private clearinghouses, disease- and condition-specific organizations, professional societies, patient groups, and Federal and State government offices that provide health information upon request. Entries include contact information, short abstracts, and information about publications and services the organizations provide, including Internet addresses for many. Topics covered include AIDS, cancer, diabetes, heart disease, and approximately 1,000 other health topics.The database is maintained by the National Health Information Center, a service of the Office of Disease Prevention and Health Promotion, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
