Volunteer citizen time, energy and commitment are key ingredients in protecting and preserving this region’s valuable ecosystem and natural resources. Both King County’s Parks and Recreation and Water and Land Resources Divisions work together with citizens to manage and maintain over 25,000 acres in open space, resource lands, and large parklands.
