Ken’s Lake Recreation Area is located ten miles south of Moab. Ken’s Lake itself is a reservoir that is regularly stocked with fish. The primary feature of the recreation area is a 31 site campground which accommodates even the largest motorhomes. The campground has picnic tables, vault toilets, grills, graveled roads and a trash receptacle; there is no drinking water at the campground. Day use activities in the area include, boating, swimming, fishing, horseback riding, and hiking. Boating is restricted to non-motorized craft (except for electric trolling motors). Swimming is at your own risk, as there is no lifeguard on duty. Anglers will find five species of fish: brown and rainbow trout, large mouth bass, sunfish, and channel catfish. A Utah fishing license is required for all persons 14 and older. Licenses are available at several locations in Moab. The Red Rock Horse Trail passes through the Ken’s Lake Recreation Area. There are three constructed hiking trails in the vicinity of the campground that afford excellent views of the red rocks and the LaSal Mountains.

All vehicles are restricted to roadways. There is no driving on the beach. If you wish to drive right up to the lakeshore, use either the fishing access road located on the southwest side of the lake, or follow the marked signs around the lake to the east shore.

To get to Ken’s Lake, drive seven miles south of Moab on U.S. Highway 191. Turn left (east) and follow the signs approximately three miles to the lake.
