The Minnesota Department of Health sent a World TB
Day message to all local public health departments and a variety of
immigrant and refugee community leaders, and health care providers
serving populations at risk for TB. The message explained the
significance of the day and encouraged individuals and communities
to actively raise awareness about TB through activities such as
writing articles and letters to the editor in local newspapers,
displaying informational materials about TB, appearing on local
radio shows, providing staff training or community education, and
communicating with elected officials about public policy issues
related to TB.
In addition, MDH TB program staff participated in
two TB-related educational sessions – one in Ramsey County on March
22 and one in Dakota County on March 28. World TB Day information
