National Astronomy and Ionosphere Center, Arecibo, Puerto Rico
The Center (also known as the Arecibo Observatory) is the site of the world's largest and most powerful radar and radio astronomy telescope. The telescope was completed in 1963 at a total cost of about $9 million.
