About the MMIS Project
- MMIS Overview - Historical background about the Medicaid Management Information System (MMIS) Replacement Project and how it began.
- MMIS Vendors - Information on the organizations DHS has contracted with to oversee the design, implementation, and quality control of the MMIS Replacement Project.
About MMIS Provider Implementation
The DHS Provider Implementation Workgroup works with the contracted vendor, Electronic Data Systems (EDS) to ensure that DHS providers are ready for a successful transition to the replacement MMIS when it goes live later this year.
The system will be ready for providers when:
- The provider file for the replacement MMIS contains current and complete information for all providers. DHS and EDS will ensure this through appropriate means including data conversion and data collection from providers.
- As authorized by DHS, providers receive their unique IDs to access MMIS functionality on the secure Provider Web Portal.
Providers will be ready to interact with the system when:
- They have received the information they need to interact with the system through appropriate and effective communication.
- They have learned the skills they need through effective training.
The overall Provider Implementation Support Plan includes training, communication, and testing for successful Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) and Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) transactions.
Currently, DHS plans to address the concerns of the Managed Care Organizations (MCOs) through the MMIS-MCO workgroup. Keep checking the OHP Public Meetings Web page for updates on the next scheduled meeting for this workgroup.
