We use EFF in our ESL classrooms and have used a very simple strategy to introduce the wheel to non-English speaking learners. The instructor might have the skill translated for understanding and then have the learners go through magazines and other print materials and have them cut out visual examples of their understanding of the skill. Learners work together in small groups and create their own wheel pasting on the example to explain the concept along with the English words. It has worked very well for us and created a clear understanding of the skills we are working on from the beginning.
