A wildland fire in La Paz County has been 90 percent contained to a total of 350 acres. The fire is located 15 miles North of Parker, near the Bill Williams Bridge. The fire began on July 28 by human causes and is expected to be contained on Aug 7. Endangered species habitat is threatened while passing thunderstorms create difficulties. Fire behavior includes torching, backing and smoldering. Access and slow progress through thick tamarisk hamper control efforts. One helicopter crew , four engine crews, one dozer, and four handcrews have been assigned.
