LOUISVILLE DRUG DEALER SENTENCED TO FOUR YEARS AND THREE MONTHS ON DRUG CHARGES
– Methamphetamine had street value of $40,000

LOUISVILLE, KY - Harley Hendrickson, age 29, of Louisville, Kentucky, in Jefferson County, was sentenced to 4 years and 3 months imprisonment in United States District Court, Louisville, Kentucky, for charges of conspiracy and possession with the intent to distribute 50 grams or more of methamphetamine, U.S. Attorney David L. Huber of the Western District of Kentucky announced today. Thomas B. Russell, Judge, United States District Court, also sentenced Hendrickson to 3 years of supervised release following incarceration. There is no parole in the federal judicial system.

Hendrickson pled guilty on June 16, 2008 and admitted that on or about November 29, 2007, and continuing to on or about November 30, 2007, in Jefferson County, Kentucky, and elsewhere, he conspired with co-defendant Reyes Ignacio to knowingly and intentionally possessing with the intent to distribute 400 grams of methamphetamine, worth at least $40,000 on the street. Reyes Ignacio pled guilty on July 14, 2008 and is scheduled to be sentenced before Judge Russell on October 20, 2008, at 11:30 a.m., in Louisville, Kentucky. Reyes Ignacio is an illegal alien who will be subject to deportation back to Mexico upon serving his time in federal prison.

According to Hendrickson’s admissions during the plea hearing, Ignacio was initially observed by federal agents in southern Indiana traveling towards Louisville, Kentucky to deliver a package containing methamphetamine to Hendrickson. Upon arriving in Louisville, Ignacio delivered the package of methamphetamine to Hendrickson’s apartment, whereupon Hendrickson took the methamphetamine and traveled to Clarksville, Indiana, where he was going to further distribute the drugs. Soon after arriving at in Clarksville, Indiana, federal agents were able to seize the methamphetamine from Hendrickson when he dropped the package as he was running from the federal agents. Hendrickson was arrested a couple days later in Lexington, Kentucky.

The case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Daniel P. Kinnicutt, and it was investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration.
