Davenport Man Sentenced on Drug and Gun Charges

Davenport, IA - On June 16, 2008, Ontario Rush-Richardson, age 20, of Davenport, Iowa, was sentenced to a term of 135 months imprisonment for possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine (Count 1) and 60 months imprisonment for possession of firearms in furtherance of drug trafficking (Count 2) announced United States Attorney Matthew G. Whitaker. The sentence on Count 2 must be served consecutive to the sentence on Count 1 for a total sentence of 195 months. Rush-Richardson had entered a guilty plea on Count 1, but was found guilty following a jury trial on Count 2. United States District Judge John A. Jarvey also ordered Rush-Richardson to serve a five year term of supervised release and to pay an assessment of $100 to the Crime Victim Fund.


This case was investigated by the Davenport, Iowa, Police Department and prosecuted by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Iowa.
