Council Bluffs Resident Sentenced To Seven Years For Conspiracy To Distribute Methamphetamine

Des Moines, IA- On May 30, 2008, in the Federal Courthouse in Des Moines, Iowa, United States District Judge Robert Pratt sentenced 25 year old Brenda Kay Harmon of Glenwood, Iowa to a term of 84 months in prison. In addition, Harmon was also ordered to serve five years on Supervised Release after her release from prison and pay an assessment of $100 to the Crime Victim Fund.


Harmon had entered a guilty plea on January 4, 2008 to Conspiring to Distribute over five hundred grams of methamphetamine. Harmon and her co-defendant Serrano-Luna worked together to distribute methamphetamine from a source in Omaha, Nebraska to individuals in Western Iowa.


Harmon’s co-defendant Rigoberto Serrano-Luna is pending sentencing in the Southern District of Iowa.


The investigation was conducted by the SWINE Task Force, Iowa Division of Narcotics Enforcement, and the Drug Enforcement Administration and prosecuted by the U.S. Attorney’s Officer for the Southern District of Iowa.
