Marshalltown Resident Sentenced To Twelve Months Probation For Harboring An Illegal Alien

Des Moines, IA - On March 25, 2008, Christopher Todd Lamb of Marshalltown, Iowa, plead guilty to one count of Harboring an Illegal Alien and was sentenced to 12 months probation, announced United States Attorney Matthew G. Whitaker. United States District Judge Robert W. Pratt also ordered Lamb to pay a $200 fine, and assessed him to pay $100 to the Crime Victim Fund.


Lamb entered a guilty plea to harboring an illegal alien by knowing or in reckless disregard of the fact that the alien, namely, an employee of Swift and Company, had come to, entered and remained in the United Sates in violation of the law. Lamb further stipulated that from June 3, 2007 and continuing through June 25, 2007 he did knowing shield from detection an alien at a place in a building located at the Swift and Company plant at 402 North 10th Avenue, Marshalltown, Iowa and that on June 3, 2007 Lamb knew that the illegal alien was a Mexican citizen and not a United States citizen.


This case was prosecuted by the United States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Iowa. This investigation was conducted by the U. S. Department of Homeland Security, Bureau of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
