September 30, 2008

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

ANDY JEROME TICKER, age 42, a resident of Holden, Louisiana, was sentenced by U. S. District Judge Jay Zainey to twelve (12) months home confinement, followed by two (2) years of supervised release for illegally wearing military decorations and medals, announced U. S. Attorney Jim Letten. In addition, TICKER was ordered to pay a $500 fine.

According to court documents, on April 12, 2008, in Slidell, Louisiana, ANDY JEROME TICKER, wore a United States Navy Captain dress white uniform including the Navy Cross (the nations second highest military decoration beneath the Congressional Medal of Honor), the Silver Star and the Purple Heart, that he was not entitled to wear. It is alleged that TICKER has never been in the United States Navy nor any branch of the military yet wore the uniform and decorations of a senior Navy officer at a wedding in Slidell, Louisiana.

The case was investigated by the United States Naval Criminal Investigative Service New Orleans Office. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U. S. Attorney W. Scott Laragy.
