FEDERAL GRAND JURY SUPERSEDING INDICTMENT FOR BANK ROBBERY AND ARMED BANK ROBBERY

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

ISAAC R. SKINNER, JR., age 22 a resident of Metairie, Louisiana, was charged in a superseding indictment by a Federal Grand Jury on Thursday, August 14, 2008 with the robberies of six banks throughout the area. During two of the robberies, a gun was shown. Starting in August 2007 and continuing through June 2008, SKINNER robbed the Chase Bank on Veterans Blvd in Metairie, the Chase Bank on Airline Highway in Destrehan, the Capital One Bank on Bullard Avenue in New Orleans, the Omni Bank on Ridgelake Drive in Metairie and twice robbed the Chase Bank on West Airline Highway in Laplace. The cumulative amount of money stolen during this bank robbery spree was in excess of $95,000.00 announced U. S. Attorney Jim Letten.

If convicted SKINNER faces a maximum of twenty-five (25) years, a fine of $250,000.00 and five (5) years of supervised release on the two counts of the indictment that involved a firearm and a maximum of twenty (20) years, a fine of $250,000.00 and three (3) years of supervised release on the remaining four counts of the indictment that do not involve a firearm.

The case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

U. S. Attorney Letten reiterated that the indictment is merely a charge and that the guilt of the defendant must be proven beyond a reasonable doubt.

The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U. S. Attorney Gina S. Vann.
