ALIEN PLEADS GUILTY TO ILLEGAL RE-ENTRY

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

JOSE ARMANDO HENRIQUEZ, age 35, a resident of El Salvador, pled guilty to one-count of illegal re-entry by a deported alien, announced U. S. Attorney Jim Letten.

JOSE ARMANDO HENRIQUEZ pled guilty before U. S. District Judge Martin L.C. Feldman to one count of illegal reentry of deported alien. The indictment included a notice of sentencing enhancements due to the fact that HENRIQUEZ was previously convicted of an aggravated felony, the single count carries a maximum statutory penalty of twenty years imprisonment.

JOSE ARMANDO HENRIQUEZ was charged with being an alien who was previously deported and was knowingly and unlawfully found in the United States in Jefferson Parish, LA without the Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security, having expressly consented to his re-application for admission into the United States.

JOSE ARMANDO HENRIQUEZ was indicted by a federal grand jury on May 8, 2008.

The case was investigated by the U. S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U. S. Attorney Andre’ Jones.
