SLIDELL MAN INDICTED ON FEDERAL CHILD PORNOGRAPHY CHARGES

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

AGEGNEHU TSEGA, 32, of Slidell, Louisiana, was indicted today by a Federal Grand Jury for crimes involving the sexual exploitation of children, announced U. S. Attorney Jim Letten.

According to the indictment, on March 25, 2008 TSEGA possessed computer hard drives and computer media containing digital images, computer images, and digital video files which contained visual depictions of a minor engaging in sexually explicit conduct. If convicted, TSEGA faces a maximum penalty of ten (10) years, followed by up to a lifetime term of supervised release, a $250,000.00 fine and TSEGA can be required to register as a sex offender.

U. S. Attorney Letten reiterated that the indictment is merely a charge and that the guilt of the defendant must be proven beyond a reasonable doubt. TSEGA is currently being held in Immigration custody for Immigration violations.

The investigation is being conducted by the Bureau of Immigration and Customs Enforcement. The prosecution of this case is being handled by Project Safe Childhood Coordinator, Assistant U. S. Attorney Brian M. Klebba.
