ILLEGAL ALIEN SENTENCED TO FEDERAL PRISON

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

JOSE GERARDO GARCIA-ESPINOSA, age 50, a resident of El Salvador, was sentenced by U. S. District Judge Ivan L. R. Lemelle to forty-seven (47) months imprisonment and three (3) years of supervised release, announced U. S. Attorney Jim Letten. Upon completion of his sentence, GARCIA-ESPINOSA will be deported to El Salvador.

The defendant previously pled guilty to illegal re-entry of a deported alien. According to court documents, on November 27, 2007, JOSE GERARDO ESPINOSA GARCIA, an alien who had previously been removed and deported from the United States, was found in the United States without have applied for re-admission.

The case was investigated by the U. S. Border Patrol. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U. S. Attorney W. Scott Laragy.
