ILLEGAL ALIEN SENTENCED IN FEDERAL COURT

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

WILMER TOLEDO-VENTURA, age 32, a resident of Honduras, was sentenced by U. S. District Judge Eldon Fallon to six (6) months imprisonment with credit for time served after pleading guilty to a one-count indictment charging him with illegal re-entry by a previously deported alien, announced U. S. Attorney Jim Letten.

According to court documents, WILMER TOLEDO-VENTURA was charged with being an alien who was knowingly and unlawfully found in the United States in New Orleans, LA without the Attorney General of the United States or his designated successor, the Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security, having expressly consented to his re-application for admission into the United States. WILMER TOLEDO-VENTURA was indicted by a federal grand jury on November 16, 2007.

The case was investigated by Special Agents with the U. S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). The prosecution was handled by Assistant U. S. Attorney Melvin Washington.
